1-{[(p-nitrobenzyl)oxy]carbonyl}-1H-benzotriazole - Introduction
1-{[(p-nitrobenzyl)oxy]carbonyl}-1H-benzotriazole, also known as NBoc-BT, is an organic compound. The following is a description of the nature, use, manufacture and safety information of the NBoc-BT:
Nature:
-Appearance: The NBoc-BT is a yellow to orange crystalline powder.
-Molecular formula: C16H11N5O4
-Molecular Weight: 341.29
-Melting point: 132-135°C
-Solubility: NBoc-BT has good solubility in organic solvents.
Use:
- NBoc-BT is an important reagent in the field of organic synthesis. It is often used as a protecting group in peptide synthesis to protect the basic side chain of the peptide. During the synthesis, the NBoc-BT reacts with the amino group of the amino acid or peptide to generate an intermediate with a protecting group. After completion of the desired reaction, the protecting group may be removed by an appropriate method.
-In addition to its application in peptide synthesis, NBoc-BT can also be used in other organic synthesis reactions, such as the introduction of selective protecting groups.
Preparation Method:
-The preparation of NBoc-BT usually uses dimethylene carbonate (DME) as a reaction solvent, and first reacts 4-nitrobenzyl alcohol with 1H-benzotriazole to generate an intermediate, and then undergoes a deprotection reaction to obtain the final product.
Safety Information:
-The NBoc-BT has no significant hazards under normal conditions of use. However, as with other chemical substances, safety measures should be taken, such as wearing appropriate protective gloves, masks and glasses.
-Avoid contact with skin and inhalation of powder. Avoid contact with oxidants and combustibles during use and storage. If contact occurs, flush immediately with plenty of water and seek medical help.
